Fees & Insurance
While none of the counselors at the A&M Christian Counseling Center participate as members of any insurance panels, our fees are based on each counselor’s credentials.
The following rates are effective as of February 1, 2024, and will affect all new clients. A&M Christian Counseling Center offers built-in payment options based on credentials, from practicum students to fully licensed therapists. A client has an array of professional counselors to choose from, and each credentialing step is described below with its corresponding fees. Regardless of credentials, each self-pay session is 50 minutes.
The fee charged is due in full at the time services are rendered unless previous arrangements have been made.

Credentialing Steps
Practicum Student Therapist
Having completed a bachelor’s degree, these individuals are in the last stages of their master’s degree program in marriage and family counseling, general psychology, social work or a related field. Generally, they are fulfilling the state-mandated degree program that requires a minimum amount of face-to-face counseling hours. Practicum student interns serve the client under the supervision of his or her graduate program supervisor. At the A&M Christian Counseling Center, on-site supervision is provided by Shaun Burrow, Ph.D., LMFT-Supervisor (#201019), LPC-Supervisor (#63973).
Licensed Professional Counselor Associates, Licensed Marriage and
Family Associates & Social Work Associates
Associates have graduated from a master’s degree program in marriage and family counseling, general psychology, social work or a related field. They have passed a national exam, jurisprudence exam and have been awarded a provincial license by the state of Texas. They are actively fulfilling the state-mandated minimum amount of supervised counseling hours required to receive full licensure. These associates are provided a minimum of one hour of instruction by their supervisor each week. All associates providing services at the A&M Christian Counseling Center are supervised by either Clinical Director Shaun Burrow or another state-approved supervisor.
Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists &
Licensed Master Social Workers
These individuals are licensed counselors. The LPC is a more generalized licensure qualified to assist in multiple areas from marriage and family issues to addiction. The LMFT is focused on all types of counseling, primarily on marriage and family, but usually broadens their scope to many other areas of expertise. The LMSW is qualified to conduct general counseling but is also educated in community social work. Each LPC, LMFT and LMSW have completed the rigors of the associate stage as described above and are fully licensed to counsel without supervision. Though not under supervision, they are required by state law to maintain a minimum number of Continuing Education Credit hours (CEU) annually. At the A&M Christian Counseling Center, they all work under the watchful eye of the Director of Clinical Care. We meet regularly with each other and with various professional groups to maintain our skills.
SYMBIS Premarital and Marital Assessment:
Eight sessions are free if seen by a student intern. The appropriate fee will be charged if seen by a licensed or associate therapist. Upon completion of eight sessions, a certificate will be issued for a discount on a marriage license.
