Play Therapy

Play therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy primarily used with children. It utilizes play as a natural medium for communication and self-expression, allowing children to explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Play therapy can be beneficial for children dealing with various issues, including:
- Anxiety or depression
- Behavioral problems
- Trauma or abuse
- Family changes (e.g., divorce, adoption)
- Medical illnesses or disabilities
Through play therapy, children can develop coping mechanisms, improve self-esteem, and work through challenging life experiences in a developmentally appropriate manner.
All new clients must fill out the intake and consent forms before attending their first session. All sessions will be 50 minutes unless otherwise stated by the counselor. During the intake session, counselors will evaluate the nature of personal needs and difficulties, discover goals for therapy and recommend the course of counseling. For children’s initial sessions, the child’s legal guardian is required to attend.
